At Roamstead, we try to make your camping adventure as easy as possible. Linens are provided for your comfort. We also have a camp store with common food, beverages, and camping gear. For meals, we have an onsite restaurant with a limited menu, as well as meal kits you can cook at your campsite. Firewood and ice are also available for purchase form our camp store. Be sure to pack your adventure gear, like hiking shoes, backpack, and weather appropriate clothing. The Smokies are a temperate rainforest, so bring your rain jacket just in case! During the summer months, there are plenty of opportunities for water fun, from the on-site pool, to white water rafting, tubing, rock hopping, and water parks. So, swimsuits are a must!

Pets must be leashed at all times, and owners must clean up after potty breaks, disposing properly of the bags.
Quiet hours are between 10PM and 8AM.
Absolutely! Nature is the best playground. We offer a number of amenities for our youngest guests, including the pool, a playground, yard games, and our Roamstead Ranger Activity Book. We find that kids have the best time playing together and making new friends! We just ask that parents accompany kids while on the property, and that kids are respectful of the property and other guests.

Or, call us at booking, and we will do our best to place you in a room closest to the designated parking area.
We have several charging stations throughout the park. Please do not charge vehicles at the RV site podiums.
Our streams hold natural trout not large enough to eat. Fishing in streams is catch and release only. No treble hooks. Please be mindful of your surroundings while fishing.
Yes - bears are common in the Smoky Mountains. However, if everyone does their part by securing food inside their vehicle, cleaning up their site, and properly disposing of trash, we can help keep everyone on the property safe.
You’ll never be bored on this side of the Smokies! We’re a short drive to all the popular hikes in the National Park, like Clingman’s Dome, and Abrams Falls. But if crowds aren’t your thing, we can also point you to some amazing lesser-known trails within minutes of the campground. Aside from hiking, there’s fly fishing, ziplining, white water rafting, tubing, mountain biking, and swimming, all within an hour drive of Roamstead. Of course, we’re close to all those popular attractions like Dollywood, downtown Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge if you’re looking for some excitement. Or, you can stay on the quiet side with a relaxing day at the pool and a stroll through the shops in the nearby Great Smoky Mountains Arts & Crafts Community.
You can walk to the park from the property! Maddron Bald trailhead is directly behind the park. Roamstead is 30 minutes from the Sugarlands Visitor Center, which is the main entrance to the park. However, the Greenbrier entrance (15 minutes) and Cosby entrance (10 minutes) are close and offer many opportunities for hiking, picnicking, and rock hopping.
We offer a small menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We serve coffee and espresso, as well as craft beers and seasonal draft cocktails. If you’re into cooking yourself, we offer skillet meals and all the tools you need to cook them over your campfire!
We have fire rings at all sites, including cabins and yurts. We just ask that you keep a safe fire. Additionally, several communal fire pits are provided in the common areas.
